Use the manager dashboard

Verified against commit 6c69a4b6 min read

The manager dashboard gives you a quick view of jobs, clients, active staff, job spending, budget use, and gross profit. The four summary figures cover your organisation, while the financial views focus on open jobs assigned to your manager profile and realised profit information.

Getting there

Sign in with your account and open Manager Dashboard if it is available in your navigation or from a link provided by your administrator.

At present, Manager Dashboard is not linked from the main navigation. If you cannot find it, ask an administrator to confirm that your account is allowed to use the dashboard and to provide the correct link. You must also have a staff record linked to the email address on your account. If that link is missing, the page displays a message asking you to contact an administrator to set up your manager profile.

The dashboard is available to staff, managers, and administrators. Financial information is shown only to people whose account includes permission to view financial information.

Key concepts

How to read the manager dashboard

  1. Start with the four summary cards: Total Jobs, Open Jobs, Clients, and Active Staff. These provide an organisation-wide snapshot and are useful for understanding overall workload and available people.
  2. Review Job Overview for financial detail. The Used Budget gauge compares current spending with the estimated value of the relevant open jobs.
  3. Use Estimated Cost vs Current Spending to compare the estimated value and current spending for each job. Select a job when you need to investigate one job rather than compare the full list.
  4. Use Cost Breakdown to compare Labour, Plant, and Other costs by job.
  5. Review Gross Profit for the percentage margin associated with each staff member shown under Staff Name. Higher percentages are displayed in green, percentages from 0% through 19.9% in orange, and negative percentages in red.
  6. If a section says No job data yet, No cost data yet, or No gross profit data available yet., there is no matching information for the selected view—not necessarily a problem with the dashboard.

How to review team information

The Active Staff card shows how many staff members are currently active. Select it to open the staff area and review individual team records.

The dashboard’s financial information is assigned to your manager profile. The job selector lists your open jobs, using each job’s number and name, and the job financial charts use the job you select. When no job is selected, the charts cover your open jobs.

The manager dashboard does not provide a separate team-activity feed or a staff-by-staff activity timeline. Use the Active Staff total as the team headline, then open the staff area for people information and the jobs area for work details.

Tips & things to know

FAQ

Why can’t I find the manager dashboard?

It is not currently linked from the main navigation. Ask an administrator to confirm your access and provide the page link. Also confirm that your sign-in email is linked to a staff record.

Why are the financial charts missing?

Your account may not have permission to view financial information. Ask an administrator to review your access if you need these sections for your role.

Why does the dashboard show an account-linking message?

Your sign-in email is not linked to a staff record. An administrator must set up that staff connection before the dashboard can identify the manager profile used for job and gross-profit information.

Why does my job not appear in Job Overview?

Job Overview lists open jobs assigned to your manager profile. A job that is closed, invoiced, or assigned to another manager will not appear there.

Why is Used Budget 0%?

The gauge shows 0% when there is no estimated value for the relevant open jobs or when there is no spending data yet. The dashboard then displays No budget data yet.

Why is there no gross-profit result for a job?

Gross profit includes invoiced, profit-bearing jobs with an estimated value above zero. The selected financial year, date range, client, and your manager profile also affect which jobs are included.

What does the gross-profit percentage mean?

It is the profit margin calculated from the invoiced jobs included in the current filter. The table sorts results from the highest percentage to the lowest percentage.
