Use the Clients area to find a customer, check their contact and address information, and review the jobs linked to them. You can also add, update, activate, deactivate, or delete client information if your account allows changes.
Getting there
Open Clients from the main navigation. The client list opens on the Active view by default.
To return to the list from a client’s details, use Back to clients.
Key concepts
Active and Inactive are the two client statuses. New clients start as Active unless you choose Inactive when creating them.
The client list is sorted by client name. It shows the client name, email, phone, city, and status.
A client’s details include their contact person, email, phone, office address, postal address, status, and creation date when available.
Linked jobs shows the work associated with that client. Each job can show its job number, job name, manager, estimated value, spending, gross profit percentage, and status.
Client management changes are available to managers and administrators. If you can view the area but do not see change controls, your account may not have permission to edit client information.
How to find a client
Open Clients.
Use the search box above the list. Search by the client name or email address.
To include inactive clients, select Inactive. Select Active to return to current clients.
Review the matching rows. The list also shows the client’s phone number, city, and status.
Select a client row to open the details page.
If there are no clients in the selected view, the page displays “No clients yet”.
How to view client details
Find the client in the list and select their row.
In Client details, review:
Contact person
Status
Email
Phone
Office address
Postal address
Created date, when available
Select Linked jobs to review the jobs connected to the client. You can search the linked jobs by job number, job name, or manager, and select a job to open it.
If you have permission to make changes, select Edit Client to update the client’s details.
An empty field is shown as a dash. Email addresses and phone numbers can be copied from the list or details page.
Tips & things to know
Keep the client name consistent so searches and linked work are easy to identify.
Use the office address for the client’s main business location and the postal address for correspondence. When adding or editing a client, Same as office address copies the office address into the postal address.
You can enter an address using the address suggestions, then check the city, region, postcode, and country before saving.
Use Inactive rather than deleting a client when you want to keep the client information available without treating them as current. A client can be switched between Active and Inactive from the list.
Deleting a client permanently removes the client information and cannot be undone. Use the delete control only when you are certain the client should be removed.
A client with no connected work shows “No jobs for this client”. Create a job and assign this client to see it in the list.
Client names are required. Email addresses are checked for a valid format when entered.
FAQ
Why can’t I see a client?
Check whether you are viewing Active or Inactive clients, then search by the client name or email address. If the client still does not appear, ask a manager or administrator to check whether the client exists or whether your account has access.
Why is a client missing from Linked jobs?
Only jobs assigned to that client appear in Linked jobs. Check the job’s client assignment and make sure it has been saved.
Can I edit a client?
Yes, if your account has permission to make changes. Select Edit Client on the client details page, update the information, and save it with Update Client.
How do I add a client?
From the Clients list, select Add Client, complete the required client name and any available contact or address information, then save with Create Client.
Can I use the postal address as the office address?
The form provides Same as office address, which copies the office address to the postal address. You can also enter a different postal address.
What happens when I delete a client?
The client information is permanently removed and cannot be recovered through the Clients area. Deactivate the client instead if you may need to keep the information.
