Use the home dashboard

Verified against commit 6c69a4b5 min read

The home dashboard gives you a quick view of day-to-day operations and, when your role allows it, a snapshot of job spending and profitability. Use the summary cards to jump into jobs, clients, or staff, then use the financial views to investigate the work that needs your attention.

Getting there

Sign in and open the home screen. If you are already elsewhere in the app, select the product logo in the left-hand navigation to return home. On smaller screens, open the navigation menu first if the navigation is hidden.

The home screen welcomes you by first name and shows the message “Here's an overview of your TreeSafe operations.”

Key concepts

How to read the home dashboard

Start at the four summary cards. Each card shows a current count, and each is clickable:

  1. Select Total Jobs to open the jobs area.
  2. Select Open Jobs to open the jobs area and continue with current work.
  3. Select Clients to open the clients area.
  4. Select Active Staff to open the staff area.

If financial information is available to you, continue to Job Overview:

The lower section, Gross Profit by Job Owner, shows profit margins by job owner. Results are shown as percentages and are ordered from the highest margin to the lowest. This view covers invoiced, profit-bearing jobs with an estimated value greater than zero, rather than every open job. If no matching results exist, it displays No gross profit data available yet.

How to open your most-used areas

Use the summary cards for the fastest access to jobs, clients, and staff. For other everyday work, use the left-hand navigation. Available areas depend on your role and account access. Common navigation groups include Today, Quotes, Health & Safety, and Staff.

The navigation can be collapsed to make more room for dashboard content. When a group is expanded, select its heading to collapse it; select it again to reopen it. The group containing the area you are currently using stays open, which makes it easier to see where you are.

Examples of areas you may find in the navigation include Daily, Bookings Calendar, Job Cards, Site Risk Assessments, Active Staff, Leave Calendar, and Request Leave. Select the label that matches the work you want to do.

Tips & things to know

FAQ

Why can’t I see the financial charts?

Financial widgets are shown only when your account has permission to view financial information. Ask an administrator to check your access if you need these views.

Why does Open Jobs not match the jobs in the spending charts?

The Open Jobs card is an overall count of open jobs. The spending charts can be narrowed by job or manager, so they may intentionally show only part of that total.

Why is the gross-profit table empty when I have jobs?

The table shows realised gross profit for invoiced, profit-bearing jobs with an estimated value greater than zero, within the selected period or client. Open or non-profit jobs will not appear there. Check the filter and select Apply again.

What happens if there is no budget information?

Used Budget displays No budget data yet when its calculated value is zero. Add or update the relevant job budget and spending information, then revisit the dashboard.

Why can’t I find a navigation item?

The app shows navigation according to your role and account permissions. Some financial areas are also hidden for shared tablet accounts. If you believe an area should be available, ask an administrator to review your access.
