3PM Drive helps you organize Users, Teams, and team memberships in one place. Invite Users, manage access and account status, create Teams, and assign Users to the work groups that need them.
Getting there
Sign in to 3PM Drive.
Open People from the main navigation.
3PM Drive opens the Teams view. Use the Users view when you need to manage people.
Depending on your access, you may see Team Members, Drivers, or both. Drivers are Users with the Driver role and are managed separately from Team Members.
Key concepts
Users: People who have access to your 3PM Drive account. The Users view includes Active Users and Invited Users.
Active: Users who have signed in at least once. Select a User to open their details.
Invited: Users who are still waiting to sign in for the first time. An invitation can show as Invited or Expired.
Teams: Groups you create to organize people and operational work. A Team can include Users, Drivers, Assets, Inspections, Defects, and Work Orders.
Team Members: The regular Users managed from the Users view. This is separate from the Drivers view.
Team Scoped: A role that can be associated with one or more Teams. When you invite a User with a Team Scoped role, you can select their Teams.
Team membership is separate from a User’s account. A User can belong to more than one Team, and removing a User from one Team does not remove them from other Teams.
How to invite a User
Open People, then select Users.
In Team Members, select Invite User.
Enter the User’s First Name, Last Name, and Email.
Select a Role.
If the selected role is Team Scoped, select the relevant Teams. Teams are optional for this role; if you leave them unselected, the User is assigned to all of your Teams.
Enter a valid Mobile Number for the selected country, if required or available.
Select Invite User.
The User appears under Invited until they sign in. If you select the Driver role, select Continue to Driver Form and complete the Driver details there.
You cannot assign the Owner role while inviting a User. If the email address is already in use, correct the email address or manage the existing User instead.
How to manage Users
Open People and select Users.
Use Team Members to manage regular Users, or Drivers to manage Users with the Driver role.
Use Active and Invited to switch between User statuses.
Use Search users... to find a User. You can also use the available table filters and change the number of rows shown.
Select an active User to open their details.
From a User’s details, use the available tabs:
General Details: Review the User’s information.
Role & Access: Review the User’s role and access.
Account: Review account information for an active User.
Invitation: Review invitation information for a User who has not signed in yet.
To update a User, open the User’s details and select the edit action. The Owner cannot be edited or archived. Active Users can be archived after confirmation. To review archived Users, turn on the archived-items option in the Active view.
For a User under Invited:
Select the resend action to send the invitation again.
If the invitation is Expired, select Reactivate to reopen it.
Invitation actions are shown instead of the actions used for active Users.
How to manage Teams
Open People. The Teams view opens by default.
To create a Team, select Add Team.
Enter a Team Name.
Select Create.
To update a Team, select it, open the Team actions, and choose the edit action. In the Edit Team window, update the Team Name, then select Save.
The Teams list includes archived Teams when you turn on the archived-items option. Use the available Team actions to archive or unarchive a Team, or delete it when that action is available to you.
When you select a Team, use its tabs to review:
Users
Drivers
Assets
Inspections
Defects
Work Orders
Inspections, Defects, and Work Orders are read-only in the Team view. Their records are derived from the Team’s Assets, so there is no add action for these tabs.
How to manage team memberships
Add Users to a Team
Open People and select a Team.
Open the Users tab.
Select Add Users.
Search with Search users..., select one or more Users, then select Add Users with the selected count.
Users already assigned to the Team cannot be selected again. You can select Users from the current list page, and the dialog includes pagination when more Users are available.
Remove a User from a Team
Open the Team’s Users tab, find the User, and use the row action to remove the User from that Team. The User keeps any other Team memberships.
Change a User’s Team role
In the Team’s Users tab, use the User’s row action to change their Team role between Managing and Following, when those options are available.
Add Drivers to a Team
Open a Team and select Drivers.
Select Add Drivers.
Search with Search drivers... and select the Drivers to add.
Select Add Drivers with the selected count.
A Driver can belong to multiple Teams. Removing a Driver from one Team keeps the Driver’s other Team memberships.
Tips & things to know
Use Team Members for regular Users and Drivers for Users with the Driver role.
A new User remains under Invited until their first sign-in.
Check the invitation status before sending an invitation again. Use Reactivate for an Expired invitation.
Use search before changing a User or membership, especially when your account contains many Users or Teams.
A User can belong to multiple Teams, so removing one membership does not remove the User from the account or from other Teams.
If a connected app manages your people, invitations and adding Users may not be available in 3PM Drive. Follow the access instructions shown for that connected app.
Your available actions depend on your access. If you do not see an action, ask an administrator to update your access.
FAQ
Why can’t I see Invite User?
You may not have access to manage Users, or a connected app may be managing people for your account. Check the access instructions shown in Users, or ask an administrator.
Why is a User shown as Invited instead of Active?
Invited means the User has not signed in for the first time. After the first sign-in, the User appears as Active.
What should I do when an invitation is Expired?
Open the User’s details and select Reactivate. This reopens the invitation. You can then continue with the invitation process.
Can I send an invitation again?
Yes. For an invited User whose invitation is still open, use the resend action from the User’s details. For an Expired invitation, use Reactivate.
Can a User belong to more than one Team?
Yes. A User can have multiple Team memberships. Removing the User from one Team does not remove their other memberships.
What is the difference between Team Members and Drivers?
Team Members is the view for regular Users. Drivers is the view for Users with the Driver role, including their Driver profiles, licences, and Asset assignments.
Why can’t I add a User who already appears in the Team’s Users tab?
Users already assigned to the selected Team are not selectable in Add Users. They are already members of that Team.
Why can’t I add an Inspection, Defect, or Work Order to a Team?
Those tabs are read-only in the Team view. The records shown there are derived from the Team’s Assets.
