Use this guide when an Estimate is still being prepared, supporting Documents are not showing as expected, a Visualisations image is missing, or an export or edit does not work in 3PM Estimator. It also explains what to check before trying again and what each message means.
A new Estimate can take time to prepare, particularly when it includes several or lengthy Documents. Keep the page open while the progress message is shown. The Estimate panel can begin filling in while the result is still being prepared.
If the page remains unchanged:
During the first preparation, 3PM Estimator shows What I read from your documents. It lists the filenames and specific facts read from each file.
If you only see Reading…, allow the first preparation to continue. If the result does not appear after the Estimate finishes, refresh the page. A follow-up request does not repeat this card when the document reading has already been completed.
While the Estimate is being prepared, the figures may appear progressively. Wait until the updating message has cleared before reviewing totals or exporting.
If the completed result still does not include the scope you expected, describe the missing scope in Chat, for example “add site works” or “carry P&G at 12%”, then send the request. Review the updated sections and totals before exporting.
An older Estimate may show a notice that it uses the older CSI division breakdown. Ask for a regeneration in Chat if you need an elemental cost plan for comparison with reference libraries.
Edit is available only when the Estimate is not being prepared and it uses the current section-based format. Wait until the updating message and other progress indicators have cleared, then select Edit.
In Edit mode, change the available line values and select Save. A line cannot have an empty description. Select Cancel to discard unsaved changes.
If another preparation finishes, or another browser tab saves changes while you are editing, the save is rejected rather than silently combining the changes. Refresh the Estimate, select Edit again, and re-apply your changes.
When manual changes are saved, 3PM Estimator protects those values from later AI rewrites. If you deliberately want to remove them, select Revert to AI version, review the confirmation, and select Revert. This removes the manual changes and restores the Estimate exactly as the AI last wrote it. Downloaded files are not affected.
Select the filename shown beside the Estimate title. If it does not open:
When adding Documents to a new Estimate, you can add up to 10 files. The combined upload limit is 60 MB, and an individual file larger than 25 MB is not accepted.
Visualisations are created from the priced scope and are not available until the Estimate has a scope or has been generated. First complete the Estimate, then select Visualise or Add a view.
Each image costs 10 credits. The Recommended pair costs 20 credits. If you do not have enough credits, the message tells you how many credits the workspace has left. Buy more credits, or try again next month.
You can request up to three views at once. If one view fails but others succeed, the successful images remain available and the credits for failed images are refunded. If no image is produced, try again later.
Image generation can take longer than text updates. Keep the page open while the pending tile is displayed. Do not select Visualise or Add a view repeatedly while a generation is in progress.
If the image still does not appear, refresh the page and check the Visualisations section. You can keep up to 24 Visualisations per Estimate; older images are removed when that limit is exceeded.
A Visualisation is indicative and generated from the priced scope. It is not a construction drawing and is not to scale. Use the priced Estimate and supporting Documents for quantities, dimensions, and construction decisions.
If the scope is wrong, update the Estimate first and then create another Visualisation. Select an image to open it, choose Full size to download it, or select Delete to remove it.
3PM Estimator charges 10 credits per image, not per request. Credits for images that fail are refunded automatically. A partially successful request therefore charges only for the images that were produced.
If a full request fails, wait briefly and try again. If the same view continues to fail, choose another view from Single view.
Wait until the Estimate has finished updating, then open Export again. You can choose PDF — no rates, PDF — with rates, or Excel.
If the PDF does not build, try Excel. If the spreadsheet does not build, try PDF instead. Refresh the page if both options fail, then retry the export.
Warning: Select Revert to AI version only after checking that you no longer need the manual changes currently shown in the Estimate. Downloaded exports remain available, but the manual changes cannot be restored through that action.
Yes. You can watch the Estimate build in the Estimate panel and use Chat to provide further instructions. Wait until preparation has finished before using Edit, Save, or Export.
The review screen displays the Documents attached when the Estimate was created. To use additional files, create another Estimate with the complete document set. You can attach up to 10 files with a combined size of 60 MB.
The Estimate may still be updating, or it may use an older format that cannot be edited line by line. Wait for preparation to finish. If the older format remains, request a regenerated Estimate in Chat.
No. Revert restores the AI version and removes the manual changes. Before using it, export the current Estimate if you need a copy of the edited values.
You can request up to three views in one generation and keep up to 24 Visualisations on an Estimate. Each generated image costs 10 credits. Failed images are refunded.
A Visualisation can appear on the PDF cover when one is available. The PDF includes the disclaimer that the image is an indicative visualization generated from the priced scope, not a construction drawing and not to scale.
Refresh the page, open Edit again, and re-apply the changes to the refreshed values. 3PM Estimator rejects a conflicting save to prevent your changes being applied to an outdated version.
Only workspace owners and admins can delete an Estimate. Deleting it also removes its conversation and uploaded Documents, so use the action carefully.
