Use Estimate in 3PM Estimator to inspect a priced result, check what was read from your supporting documents, make controlled changes, export a copy, and manage Visualisations of the finished project.
The Estimate screen opens with Chat and Estimate views. On a larger screen, drag the divider between them to give either view more room. On a smaller screen, use Chat or Estimate at the top of the screen to switch views.
Note: Exporting is unavailable while you are editing. Finish by selecting Save or Cancel first.
You can also use Chat to request a change or ask a follow-up question, such as adding site works, carrying P&G at a percentage, or showing cost per square metre by element. Select the model shown in the chat composer when you want to use a different model: Claude Haiku 4.5 is labelled Fastest · recommended, Claude Sonnet 5 is Balanced, and Claude Opus 5 is Deepest analysis.
The document summary records what was read during the initial generation. A later chat correction changes the estimate and conversation, but does not rewrite that original summary.
In 3PM Estimator, generated renderings are shown under Visualisations at the top of the estimate body.
Each image costs 10 credits. You can request up to three views at a time, and an estimate keeps up to 24 Visualisations. If a requested image fails, its credits are refunded. A partially successful request reports which views were not returned.
You can also ask in Chat: Show me what it'll look like finished. Any Visualisations created there appear in the same Visualisations area.
Warning: Visualisations are indicative images generated from the priced scope — not construction drawings, and not to scale. Do not use them to take measurements or confirm construction details.
Keep the estimate open until the status changes from Estimating. The chat may show progress such as the number of sections and lines priced. You can stop an active chat response and try again if needed.
Review the error message in Chat, then try the request again. If the error continues, provide more detail about the scope and check that your supporting documents open correctly.
Save stays unavailable when there are no changes to save, while a save is already in progress, or when the estimate is still being generated. Add a valid change and make sure every line has a description.
The estimate may have been updated after you entered Edit. Refresh the estimate, enter Edit again, and re-apply the changes to the current version.
The card is created for the initial estimate generation. Check the document filename in the estimate header and open it there. If the file was added later, ask for a new estimate or use Chat to request a fresh review of the relevant information.
Try again with fewer views. A failed image is not charged. If the workspace has no AI credits available, buy more credits or try again next month.
Visualisation generation is not available for every workspace configuration. You can still review the Estimate, supporting documents, and existing Visualisations.
Try the other export format shown in Export. For example, use Excel if the PDF cannot be built, or use PDF if the spreadsheet cannot be built. Make sure you are not in Edit.
Yes. Create another estimate from the project’s New estimate action. Estimates remain side by side so you can compare options without replacing the existing estimate.
No. Use Edit to change the available line fields: description, quantity, unit, unit cost, notes, or optional setting. Subtotals and totals recalculate from those values.
No. It removes the current manual changes and restores the AI version in the Estimate. Exports you already downloaded are not affected.
No. They are indicative Visualisations generated from the priced scope, not construction drawings and not to scale.
You can request up to three views at a time. An estimate keeps up to 24 Visualisations, and each generated image costs 10 credits.
Yes, but choose the export that matches your audience. PDF — no rates is the client-facing option; PDF — with rates includes the full quantity and rate build-up and is labelled Internal.
Elemental analysis is built from the element code on each priced line. If no lines have been classified, Elemental displays No elemental analysis yet. Ask for a regeneration in Chat when you need an elemental cost plan.
