3PM Estimator gives you two ways to work with AI: use Buddy to ask questions about your estimates and workspace, or use the project chat to create and refine an estimate. You can also use voice input to add spoken detail to the Scope field when you start an estimate.
You can ask questions such as:
Buddy uses the Project or estimate you are viewing when you refer to “this Project” or “this estimate”. When Buddy quotes totals, they are GST-exclusive. It reports figures from your workspace rather than inventing rates or market figures.
Continue typing in the same Buddy conversation to ask a follow-up question. Buddy keeps the context of that conversation and can use the page you are currently viewing to understand references such as “this Project”.
To start a separate conversation, select New conversation. To return to an earlier one:
Conversation titles are based on the opening question. You can remove a conversation from the Past conversations list with its delete control. This removes that conversation and its messages.
Note: Closing Buddy does not end or remove the conversation. Reopen Buddy to continue it later.
Voice input adds spoken text to the Scope field while you create an estimate.
If Scope already contains text, the dictated text is added after it; your existing text is not replaced. After the text is added, select Undo to restore the field to its previous contents. Select What I said to compare the word-for-word transcript with the tidied text; What you said opens the same transcript for review.
You can discard a recording before it is transcribed. If 3PM Estimator cannot hear usable speech, speak closer to the microphone and try again. Voice input supports recordings of up to five minutes.
No. Buddy can look up and explain information, but it cannot create, price, reprice or edit an estimate. Open the relevant Project and ask in its project chat to make a change.
Yes. Buddy uses the Project or estimate you are viewing when you refer to “this Project” or “this estimate”.
No. Buddy conversations are personal to you within the active workspace.
Yes. Open Past conversations and select the conversation. Select New conversation when you want to start without the earlier context.
No. Dictated text is appended after the existing text. Use Undo immediately after the insertion to restore the previous contents.
No. 3PM Estimator uses the recording to produce text, then discards the recording. The transcribed text can remain in Scope and in What I said while you are reviewing it.
Select Stop. 3PM Estimator transcribes the recording and adds the tidied text to Scope. Recordings are also stopped automatically at five minutes.
Try asking the question again with the Project or estimate name and the detail you need. If the workspace has run out of AI credits, Buddy cannot complete a lookup until credits are available again.
