Projects and work
In 3PM Base, the main work area is called Projects. A Project is the central place for work connected to a customer. Depending on your access and the information entered, a Project may include:
a customer or Contact
a start date and site Address
a Project type, such as fixed work or time-and-materials work
descriptions and related documents
Quotes and financial information
scheduled activities shown in Calendar
A Quote can be converted into a Project when it has been approved. Use Quotes for proposed work and Projects for work that is being managed or carried out.
Resources combines staff, time tracking, and leave-related work. If you are looking for time tracking or leave, open Resources rather than looking for a separate top-level area.
Financial terms
Financials: Reports and financial views for your organization. The product area is labelled Financials, not Reports.
Bills: Money your organization owes. A Bill can be saved as a draft, submitted or approved, and later marked as paid or voided.
Invoice: Money a customer owes your organization for goods or services. Invoices can be linked to Projects and can show statuses such as paid, approved, submitted, or voided.
Payment Terms: The timing agreed for payment. Available options include Net 15, Net 30, Net 60, Net 90, due on receipt, and custom terms. New Bills use Net 30 by default unless you change the option.
Line item: One charge or detail within an Invoice, Bill, Quote, or other financial document. Line items usually include a description, quantity, rate, or amount.
Fixed: A Project type where the work is priced as a fixed amount.
Time and materials: A Project type where charges are based on time and materials used.
Purchase Orders: Purchase-related documents that can be used alongside financial and Project information.
